Criticisms of Farang Teachers in Thailand

We often hear/read about how the ‘farang’ teacher has no real resect from the students at government schools, but for me I find that some of the ‘bad’ classes aren’t just bad with me as their farang teacher but they exactly as bad as their Thai teachers. Yes, we aren’t respected by the kids just the same as the Thai teachers. Thai teachers just don’t respect us, the farang teachers. One such school is Udon Pittayanukul in Udon Thani. I try to gain a little respect from the Thai teachers at the schools, but at the end of the day it’s so hard. Do you find it the same, or not? What kind of things do you have to do with the Thai teachers to try to gain that little respect from them?

My experience working in Thailand is that things are generally relaxed and fun.  If you’re not objective driven and are wiling to overlook some fairly questionable practices, you can enjoy yourself.  But if you are the result-driven type then working in Thailand could end up being awfully frustrating.  I should imagine that in more professional roles, where tolerances tend to be less and standards higher, it could be even more frustrating.

Thailand, while a fun place to work, is not necessarily where one is going to advance their skills, or their career.  It’s a great place to spend the final few years of one’s work life, a great place to work part-time and surely a fantastic place to be on a big expat package. But working here full-time in the prime of your life, hmmm, you’ve got to think seriously about it.

Farang Teachers in Udorn Thani

Farang English teachers are a dime a dozen here in Udorn Thani. I’ve been treated badly at every school I worked at and not only me, but all the farangs are. The pay around the Issan area is around 30,000 THB for 18-27 hours a week. They don’t even provide housing assistance. The very best advice I could give you is stay far away from all the schools in Udorn Thani especially big names school like Satriratchinuthit, Udonpittayanukul and Anuban Udorn Thani. The head teachers and their crony assistants are all liars and crooks. You have Heads who don’t even know their jobs. At Satriratchinuthit School , Aj Saranya, Aj Wilawan, Aj Valapah who is also the head of a training department are an embarrassment to their profession. Farangs with less than high school credentials are hired by these Heads. These farangs can’t even speak proper English and make so many spelling mistakes when they are teaching writing to Thai students at high school level. The head of the training department can’t even speak proper English yet she is the head of a training division for all teachers in Udorn Thani. I’ve been in Udorn Thani for six years and not even once has she organized any training for any teacher in Udorn Thani. In another similar big school, my latest positing, teachers like Aj Chulaporn and Aj Bunchar are totally useless. They talk, talk and talk. Similarly, farangs whose qualifications are lower than their students are hired by Aj Chulaporn and Aj Bunchar.  What a joke these heads are and they have become a laughing stock in the community. You would be much better off going to the schools outside Udorn Thani, but prepare to get fed up with the shitty office help. Needless to say, some schools are far better than others. It’s a crap finding a good school because there isn’t any. NEVER offer to work outside your teaching hours. They will take full advantage of you and not in a good way. I hope this tidbit helps. Good luck in your job search in Udorn Thani.

อุษณี…

อุษณีย์ วงษ์จันทร์, the Head of Foreign Language Department at Nong Bua School in Nakhon Sawan fucks every farang teacher who works at the school. The new farang teacher is Mathew Nelson who stays in a room in her house. This happens every time, every semester with every farang teacher. She fucks so good that no one complains because fuckng her is free and she is a good fuck. Be careful all farang teachers,

อุษณีย์ วงษ์จันทร์ is crazy, seriously fucked up in the head. You don’t fuck her, you cannot work at Nong Bua school.

Pedophiles in Thailand

Gone also are the days of the easy ‘visa run’. Many Westerners used to live in Thailand illegally by doing a visa run to Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia once a month. From Bangkok, the visa run there and back only takes about 6 to 12 hours and, once back in Thailand, you were given another 30 day stay in the country. Now, the visa laws have changed, and a Westerner without a proper visa is only allowed to do three 30 day visa runs, before they are forced to leave the country and get a proper visa for Thailand. What this has done is to dissuade some pedophiles from coming here, as they do not want to have to go to a Thai embassy overseas for a visa, in case their name comes up on a list of wanted pedophiles.

The Thai Department of Education is also clamping down on fake college degrees. It used to be you could go to Khao San Road in Bangkok and buy a fake college degree for around $6. The Department of Education didn’t check the degree when you submitted it with your work permit application, so you were immediately eligible for many more teaching jobs.

Now, college degrees are checked and I know of at least four English teachers that have been caught and deported from Thailand when it was found their degrees were fake

Finally, the Thai police have been doing spot checks of schools all over Thailand, arriving at the school without warning and asking for Western teachers’ work permits and college degrees. When this first started, there were reports of several schools that had Western teachers desperately trying to escape out of back doors or up on the roof, hoping to evade the police until they had left the school.

Of course, some Westerners are complaining about this. It’s unfair of the Thais to mandate these new laws; it’s ridiculous to expect Westerners to comply. But for those of us who came here to teach, are qualified, and do care about the safety of Thai children, we are happy the Thai government has instituted these rules. As a Westerner, It’s embarrassing to have these awfulforeign  men in Thailand, but it’s incredibly sad to think the Thais might believe these men are good examples of average Westerners.

How embarrasingly pathetic these pedophiles are!!! I can name so many of them, those I know who have come here for young Thailand kids; to make matters all the more raunchy is that these stinking pedophiles have their own young kids back where they come from. How sick can they be?
